Research Workshop Knowing and Acting with Young People: A Study Visit to Kölvi Youth Work Centre in Tampere Kaye academic college of education, Israel Presenting Author:This workshop will take the form of a study visit to Kölvi-toiminta, a preventive youth work centre in Tampere run by Pakolaisnuorten tuki ry. Kölvi works with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds and offers a community-based space for support, participation, belonging and guidance. The visit will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about local youth work practices in Tampere and to reflect on the connections between educational research, social inclusion and practice. The objectives of the workshop are: To introduce participants to a local youth work initiative in Tampere; To explore how preventive youth work supports young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds; To discuss the role of non-formal and community-based education in addressing inequality and exclusion; To create dialogue between educational researchers and practitioners.
