Panel Discussion Cultivating the Emerging Research Community: The Launch of Emerging Research in Education Journal (ERE) and the Eduresearch.net Platform 1: Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU); 2: OA Publishing; 3: Ku Leuven; 4: University of Padova (Italy), Italy; 5: DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education Presenting Author:This EERA Panel introduces two new initiatives developed through the collaboration between the Emerging Researchers’ Group (ERG), Network 6, and Network 12: the launch of Emerging Research in Education (ERE) and the development of the new community platform Eduresearch.net. Emerging Research in Education (ERE) is a new peer-reviewed Diamond Open-Access journal dedicated to emerging researchers within the European Educational Research Association. Building on the intellectual community fostered by the Emerging Researchers’ Conference (ERC), ERE creates, for the first time, a structured and sustainable publication pathway for early-career scholars within EERA. The journal aims to promote high-quality and accessible research dissemination, combining rigorous double-blind peer review with a developmental approach that supports emerging researchers in navigating academic publishing. Open to substantially developed papers originating from ERC contributions, ERE reflects EERA’s commitment to research excellence and equitable participation in knowledge production. Alongside the journal, the session will present the new Eduresearch.net platform, a shared digital space designed specifically for EERA’s emerging researcher community. The platform is conceptualized as an independent and flexible environment that can be shaped through different modules supporting networking, collaboration, resource sharing, mentoring, and collective knowledge building. Its primary aim is to extend beyond the temporal boundaries of the ERC by enabling the conversations, collaborations, and exchanges initiated during the conference to continue throughout the year. The platform will provide opportunities for emerging researchers to create thematic communities, share materials and opportunities, develop collaborative projects, organize discussions, and build meaningful connections across institutions, countries, and research traditions. By fostering sustained interaction and peer support, it seeks to contribute to the development of a vibrant and interconnected European Educational research community. Together, ERE and Eduresearch.net represent complementary investments in the future of educational research: one providing a space for the dissemination of emerging scholarship, the other creating an infrastructure for ongoing collaboration and community building. The session invites members of the educational research community to explore the rationale underpinning these two initiatives and the distinctive features that characterize them, discuss their potential, and contribute with perspectives and experiences that will help shape their future development.
