Conference Agenda

This exciting daytime tour will feature sites around the city important to the cultural identity of Detroit and its unique musical heritage. Stops will include the recently-renovated Blue Bird Inn jazz club and the ruins of the former Grande Ballroom. The tour will conclude with a visit to Third Man Records, in Detroit’s historic Cass Corridor. At Third Man, tour participants will learn about the vinyl record pressing process and watch as records are actually being pressed. 

This tour is by bus and will leave from the Conference hotel, the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, at 12:00 p.m. and will return to the hotel at approximately 4:30 p.m. Closed-toe shoes are required for this tour. Lunch is not provided on this tour. Light snacks and beverages will be provided on the bus. During the stop at Third Man, there will be an opportunity to grab refreshments from adjacent businesses.
