Session Abstract

Health and UX - how does that go together? The target groups we are pushing in this workshop are people with assistance needs in performing everyday tasks or activities. On the one hand, we include people with physical and/or cognitive impairments and, on the other hand, in view of demographic changes, above all older people. Both groups are often dependent on a network of very different actors and aids when they need help or support and pose highly heterogeneous requirements for the sustainable implementation of products, services and digital systems, and not only for the (future) healthcare system.

Which UX methods are particularly suitable here or do they even unconsciously only repeatedly provoke stereotypical images of the target groups, so that we as designers go in search of solutions with a deficit view?

We want to get to the bottom of these and other questions together in the format of a World Café. In doing so, we will gain deeper insights into the participants' existing understanding of the concept of health and UX methods in this context. Among other things, it offers participants the opportunity to examine themselves, their own work as experts in the field of health and UX, and to adopt new perspectives.

The workshop is aimed at all participants working in the fields of medicine, health, informatics, user experience and, of course, at all interested parties.
