Session Overview
MO-201: Modelling mobility systems today and in the future
Monday, 04/Sep/2017:
4:00pm - 5:30pm

Session Chair: Christopher Lucien Mutel, Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland
Session Chair: Jens-Christian Holst, Siemens AG, Germany
Location: Salle de conférences 1
European Convention Center - Ground Floor - "Salle de conférences 1"

Session Abstract

Effectively managing the transportation of people and goods is a key part of any life cycle management plan. However, understanding the choice between various transport options is complicated by issues such as life cycle inventory quality and scenario uncertainty. Furthermore, modelling future transport systems is difficult due to questions such as future technological improvements, emissions standards, price developments, and game changers such as autonomous vehicles. This session will examine these practical and research questions, and reflect on the future of the LCM of transport.
