Special Session – Laser Material Processing for Circular Manufacturing: Repair, Recovery and Upcycling
| ||
| Session Abstract | ||
|
This session explores how laser material processing can be used to transform production waste into high valuable components, or at least into suitable feedstock, to support circular manufacturing. It focuses on waste streams such as offcuts, rejected builds, and used powders, with emphasis on strategic alloys and metals. Contributions will address bottlenecks in preprocessing, contamination control, and handling of waste derived material, as well as approaches to maintain process stability under feedstock variability. Topics may include new process routes or strategies, as well as robust parameter design, beam shaping, in situ sensing and advanced process control with the aim of improving reliability and part quality. | ||
