Raúl ZURITA-MILLA received in 2008 a Ph.D. degree from Wageningen University for his research on the use of the fused medium and high spatial resolution satellite images for mapping and monitoring heterogeneous landscapes. That same year, he joined the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth observation (ITC) of the University of Twente (The Netherlands), where he is currently Associate Professor in spatio-temporal analytics. He is actively involved in teaching GIS, Remote Sensing and programming courses to MSc and post-graduate international students as well as in national and international research projects. He has published more than 30 journal peer-reviewed articles and it is on the editorial board of the online journal “Remote Sensing”.
