Biography
Eskedar Zelalem is a geoinformation professional with around 10 years’ of experience working with national and international organizations in the area of urban cadastre and geodata management.
She earned a BSc. in Computer Science and IT from Haramaya University of Ethiopia and a Master's degree in Geoinformatics from University of Twente, ITC faculty, the Netherlands. Eskedar has worked in urban land governance organizations in Ethiopia to advance land administration by adopting innovative geoinformation technology. While working in the Addis Ababa Cadastral and Information System(AA-CADIS) development program, she was a coordinator with responsibilities that included project management, evaluation, and legal framework development.
Currently Eskedar is working in the REILA project as a development manager for the National Rural Land Administration and Information System(NRLAIS). She enjoys contributing to better securing women's land rights and it is important for her to generally improve the tenure security of landowners through advancements in the land registration system.
