| 1:00pm - 1:45pm | Plenary 1: Plenary 1 - Sara Liin: Utilizing Insights from Endogenous Modulation in the Pharmacological Targeting of Kv7 Channels Location: Aula Magna Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) ion channels within the Kv7 family play important roles in regulating cellular excitability. Mutations in the genes encoding Kv7 channels are also associated with various diseases. Consequently, understanding how Kv7 channels are modulated by endogenous and pharmacological compounds is of broad interest. This presentation will highlight recent advances in the pharmacological targeting of Kv7 channels, including examples of how insights into the molecular mechanisms of endogenous modulators can be leveraged in drug design. |
