Privacy Notice

ConfTool is the Content Management System used for submissions, reviews, notifications and conference registration for iConference 2023. Information you provide about yourself in the system in relation to any of these activities associated with iConference 2023, as well as any contributions you make to the conference (primarily proposals and reviews) will be processed by the conference organisers and reviewers in order to review your contribution, communicate with you and organise and administer the conference. The iSchools will manage the information and the legal basis for the processing is article 6.1 (e) in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If you register for conference participation, the payment processor with which we work will process financial information associated with your payment of the registration fee, such as your credit card number and expiration date. The payment processor will notify us of your payment. No other financial information will be disclosed.

You are not obliged by law or contract to provide any information about yourself, but in order to submit a proposal to, review for, attend or otherwise participate in the conference you need to provide the requested information about yourself.

In addition, when you use ConfTool, the system will collect technical information about you and your use of it, for example your IP-address, cookies, referrer URL, operating system, browser type, and the date and time of access and actions in the system. This information is collected in order to provide a secure and error-free system, and for the conference administrators to be able to help you with any questions regarding the system. The iSchools control this process in accordance with EU GDPR.

As a contributor to or participant in the conference you have certain rights according to article 15-18, 21 and 22 in the GDPR. These include a right to receive a copy of your personal data and information about the processing, a right to request that your personal data is corrected or erased, and a right to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted. You also always have a right to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authorities. No information about you will be used for automated decision-making.

If you are a reviewer, note that reviewer contact information may also be used in future to issue invitations to review again for a subsequent iConference.
