Social Activity 1: Guided Tour of Vilnius Streets – Symbols of the University’s History Location: Vilnius University Museum (Universiteto str. 3) Limited to 30 participants. On-site registration is required at the registration desk on August 26. Step beyond the forum venue and explore how Vilnius University has shaped the city for more than four centuries. Since its foundation, the University has been home to distinguished scholars, scientists, writers, and public figures whose ideas and achievements have left a lasting mark on Lithuania. This guided walking tour through Vilnius Old Town visits places closely connected with the University's history, revealing the unique relationship between the University and the city. It offers an engaging way to discover the rich cultural and intellectual heritage of Vilnius while enjoying an informal walk with fellow forum participants. |
Social Activity 2: Visit to St. John's Church Bell Tower Location: St. John's Church Bell Tower (Šv. Jonų str. 12) Limited to 25 participants. On-site registration is required at the registration desk on August 26. Join fellow forum participants for a guided tour of the Bell Tower of St. John's Church, the tallest building in Vilnius Old Town. The tour introduces the history of the Bell Tower, the people who have shaped the development of Vilnius University, and the fascinating story of Foucault's Pendulum, which demonstrates the Earth's rotation. Following the tour, participants will have the opportunity to ascend to the top of the Bell Tower and enjoy panoramic views of Vilnius Old Town. |
