A Distributed Body: Non-binary Becoming Through Sound

The sound piece Haecceity II is derived from my work with affective performance practices and here Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s use of the term as individuation, primarily in A Thousand Plateaus (1980 ). The outline for this sound piece as performance was conceived simultaneously with my writing of a paper for the 2019 edition of the Deleuze and Guattari Studies Conference which took its departure in that exact term. The performance is constructed with a focus on the lines of intensity that runs through it, and in their unification as improvised sound. The piece is in constant development and should be regarded as a concept that can take many shapes and have many potentialities inscribed. This will be the second live iteration of Haecceity, where the first was created in June 2019.

Matri Linear B - Surfacing Earth (2021)
This artistic research project takes as starting-point the expressive forces of the Earth’s surface as ‘speaking landscapes’, as agencies of a statement, and explores how we can learn to understand them; it addresses the relation between the landscape and the viewer and their kinematic and kinetic tools of visualization (cinematography, satellite images, cartography, painting), as well as scientific methods of image production (archaeology, anthropology). The earth represents a “surface on which the forces and agents of production are distributed” that lets the body of the earth become a "divine presupposition" which “lies outside the production logic of capital. It is of her that Marx says: It is not the product of labor, but appears as it's natural or divine presupposition.”1 Matri Linear B investigates the seeing of the landscape itself as a process of social organization. The second plateau of this research project looks into anthropology and more precisely into feminist anthropology in Australia and their study of the function of cartographic art in Aboriginal cultures, in particular because of its feature of story-telling of landscape.
