Are the Facts Friendly? A Review of Psychotherapy Research Findings and Latest Developments Professor of Counselling Psychology, Department of Psychology, University of Roehampton, UK This talk will present an overview of the latest evidence for the effectiveness of psychotherapy and the factors that drive therapeutic change. The talk will look at the role of client, therapist, relationship, and technique factors; and go on to ask what difference the psychotherapist’s orientation makes. The latest research on outcomes across client characteristics will also be discussed, and recent innovations in the field summarised.
