Workshop: Engaging Residents in Regenerative Urban and Tourism Development Hotelschool The Hague, Netherlands, The This workshop explores the question: How can cities engage residents in regenerative urban and tourism development? By introducing a segmentation model based on resident personas, participants will gain new insights into fostering inclusivity, well-being, and a sense of belonging in urban environments. The session highlights how these personas can serve as a tool for city planners, policymakers, and tourism stakeholders to create a more balanced and hospitable urban experience where all stakeholders—residents, visitors, and businesses—feel welcomed and valued. Rather than a traditional presentation, this workshop will take the format of an interactive discussion, built on the foundation of a practice-based research report. Participants will actively engage with the findings, exchange perspectives, and explore how these insights can be applied to their own cities and regions. Through this dynamic approach, the session aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue and collaborative learning on the role of residents in shaping sustainable tourism and urban development. |
